The Detroit Lions are strong at the top of their depth chart, but training camp battles will always be plentiful this time of year.

Hendon Hooker is being challenged by the Lions to reclaim his QB2 role, with veteran journeyman Kyle Allen joining the roster in free agency.

Allen is a seven-year veteran with stints in Carolina (2018-2019), Washington (2020-21), Houston (2022), Buffalo (2023) and Pittsburgh (2024). He's made 19 career starts with a 62.7 completion percentage, recording 26 touchdowns, 21 interceptions and a 7-12 record in those starts.
