At 3:45 p.m. on Monday, the National Weather Service reported an air quality alert in effect until Wednesday at midnight for Ocean and Burlington counties.
Six of the top ten areas in the US with the worst air quality Saturday morning are in New England, according to the government air quality monitor AirNow.
Scattered storms are back for Sunday afternoon, primarily between 1 and 7 p.m. Any activity eyeing the tri-state through the afternoon and evening could bring severe storms, damaging winds and flash flooding.
