The Justice Department late Friday gave Congress the first trove of documents to comply with a subpoena by the House Oversight Committee.

The majority of the government’s Epstein files — estimated to be around 100,000 pages — have not been released to the public. More files will be turned over to the Oversight panel, which promised to release them after redacting personal information. But it’s unclear when the next tranche of files will sent to Capital Hill.

The ‘overwhelming majority’ of the material provided to a key investigative committee in response to a subpoena had already been released, according to Democratic members.
