Israel and Hezbollah exchanged cross-border strikes as Lebanon reels from deadly back-to-back attacks targeting the electronic devices of the Iran-backed militant group’s members that left dozens dead and thousands of people injured.

Israel has carried out extensive air strikes on southern Lebanon targeting positions of the Iranian-backed group, Hezbollah At least eight people have died in Lebanon, and almost 3,000 are wounded, after pagers being used by Hezbollah exploded in southern Beirut and several other areas of the country.

The device explosions appeared to be the culmination of a monthslong operation by Israel to target as many Hezbollah members as possible all at once.
