British Airways owner International Consolidated Airlines said it ordered the planes to bolster its long-haul fleet after earnings rose.

IAG, parent firm of British Airways and Spanish airline Iberia, announced orders for 53 new Boeing (NYSE:BA) and Airbus (OTCPK:EADSF) planes for its long-haul fleet, a day after the U.S. reached a new trade deal with the U.

British Airways parent IAG is poised to order about 30 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, Bloomberg News reported on Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.
