Former USFL teams playing in the UFL along with the Panthers are Birmingham Stallions, Houston Roughnecks and Memphis Showboats. The four former XFL teams in the new league are the Arlington (Texas) Renegades, D.C. Defenders, San Antonio Brahmas and St. Louis Battlehawks. The Panthers the last two seasons played in the UFL.
The UFL hasn't had the success it hoped for after its USFL-XFL merger, and now the league is looking to regroup in order to survive.
