Known as one of the top meteor showers of the year because of its many bright shooting stars, the Perseid shower started producing some meteors on July 17 and will continue to do so through Aug. 23, according to the American Meteor Society.
The nighttime skies will be filled with shooting stars in the coming weeks due to the annual Perseid meteor shower.
Mostly clear skies over the next few nights will increase chances of catching a falling star from one of two meteor showers happening now.
