President Trump is visiting Scotland where he will open a new golf course in the Aberdeen area, the historic oil capital of Europe and home to major North Sea energy operations.
Trump had most recently threatened tariffs of 30% on imports from the European Union. But on Sunday, he met with the president of the European Commission, and they agreed to a lower level.
The incident occurred while the president was at one of his golf courses in Scotland during his four-day trip to the country.
President Donald Trump is meeting Sunday with European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen, taking a break from golfing in Scotland to discuss trade as both sides seek an agreement on tariff rates with the White House's deadline to impose stiff import taxes looming this week.
