NEW YORK – No-hit by Seattle Mariners starter Bryan Woo through seven innings, the Yankees rallied to an extra-inning, 6-5 win on Thursday night. With one out in the 10 th, Aaron Judge’s sacrifice fly to center narrowly scored Anthony Volpe from third base – a play that survived a Mariners’ replay challenge.
Next on the list of non-productive third basemen is another possible Yankees target, Luis Rengifo of the Angels, as The Post’s Jon Heyman has reported. He was more productive each of the previous three seasons but has struggled badly this season.
With another series loss at the hands of the Yankees, the Mariners have now lost of split 18 of the last 21 series against the organization since 2014.
The Yankees acquired Williams, a two-time All-Star and two-time Reliever of the Year Award winner, from the Milwaukee Brewers in an offseason trade. Though it seemed Williams would serve as a shutdown closer option for the Yankees this season, he struggled early and encountered some hostility from home fans.
Anthony Volpe scored the winning run with an acrobatic slide on Aaron Judge’s shallow sacrifice fly in the 10th inning.

It didn't matter. After Woo came out of the game in the eighth, the Yankees began their comeback, scoring three runs in the eighth before catcher Austin Wells hit a two-run RBI single to tie the game and send things to extra innings.
