The third day of the NFL draft drew a record-setting 4.3 million viewers across ESPN, NFL Network, ABC, ESPN Deportes and digital channels, as fans eagerly tuned in to see when the shocking slide of Shedeur Sanders would end.

Shedeur Sanders went from being a projected top pick to going in the fifth round during the 2025 NFL Draft. The massive slide left many wondering why the Colorado Buffaloes quarterback was passed on by many teams.

Mel Kiper Jr. officially lost it on ESPN when Shedeur Sanders was finally picked by the Browns. The biggest icon of NFL Draft coverage went on a tirade, slamming teams for being idiots when it came to evaluating quarterbacks — with Kiper being a big fan of Sanders out of Colorado.
