Manchester City are close to reaching an agreement to sign Rosenborg midfielder Sverre Nypan. The 18-year-old has been pursued by a host of clubs but is now on course to join City. Subject to personal terms being finalised, it will be a record fee for a player from the Norwegian league.

Manchester City have agreed a deal with Rosenborg to sign midfielder Sverre Halseth Nypan. Talks over personal terms are ongoing for the 18-year-old, but it is understood the fee would be £12.5m, with no add-ons or other clauses, and he would sign a contract until 2030.
