Randy was born in October 1961 and because of his age, was not an original member of the Jackson 5. He did, however, release one studio album in 1989 under the moniker Randy and the Gypsys.

Whitfield said Jackson was "not happy" and refused to see Randy. Taunya Zilkie, Randy Jackson's public relations representative, says she was with him that day.

The new Jackson 5 mural by East Chicago artist Felix "Flex" Maldonado is located on the north wall of the Vogue Cleaners building at 610 S. Lake St. in Gary's Miller neighborhood.
