After collecting the WBC lightweight title in 2019, Lomachenko suffered his defeat by Lopez in an IBF unification bout, before winning three fights in a row prior to his controversial loss to Haney.

Lomachenko finished his pro career 18-3 with 12 stoppage victories, incurring late-career decision losses to Teofimo Lopez and Devin Haney.

His last two defeats came against Teofimo Lopez in Oct. 2020, and then against current WBC Super Lightweight champion, Devin Haney, in May 2023, a fight many felt should have gone Lomachenko’s way.

Lopez (16-0, 12 KOs) won a clear decision over Ukrainian whiz Lomachenko on Oct. 18 in a lightweight unification that many considered to be one of the top upsets of the year.
