President Donald Trump is championing himself as an expert in conflict resolution after helping successfully negotiate peace between Thailand and Cambodia. The president boasted about his accomplishment Monday while speaking to reporters in Scotland alongside U.

Military commanders from Thailand and Cambodia held talks on Tuesday, as calm return to their disputed border and displaced residents began trickling back, following the Southeast Asian neighbours announcing a truce to end five days of fighting.

"The U.S. already flunked the test and that should be a wakeup call," a former senior U.S. State Department official told Newsweek.
