A young gorilla at the Calgary Zoo has died. The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo announced a member of its western lowland gorilla troop passed away unexpectedly, in a news release Tuesday.

The Calgary Zoo says one of its lowland gorillas died as a result of injuries sustained while being moved between areas of the gorilla enclosure on November 12, 2024.
