The Chicago Blackhawks today announced that the team has acquired defenseman Ryan Mast and Boston’s own 2025 seventh-round pick from the Boston Bruins in exchange for defenseman Victor Soderstrom.

They traded the rights to Swedish defenseman Victor Soderstrom to the Bruins for prospect defenseman Ryan Mast and a 2025 seventh-round draft pick (No. 197 overall).

For Mast, the 22-year-old native of Bloomfield, Mich., joins the Blackhawks after being previously chosen by the Bruins in the sixth round of the 2021 NHL Draft.

Mast, meanwhile, was a sixth-round pick (181st overall) for the Bruins in 2021. He spent much of 2023-24, his first pro season, playing for the Maine Mariners of the ECHL.
