Alex Ovechkin fired a perfect wrist shot past Calvin Pickard for his first goal of the game, scored from his office on the power play for his second and sailed a shot into an empty net from his own zone to complete the hat trick.

Calvin Pickard became the 181st different goaltender he has scored on, already the most of any player after Ovechkin broke Jaromir Jagr’s mark earlier last month.

Saturday's win was Pickard's first since Feb. 5 when he had a five-game winning streak. The Oilers' backup goaltender has been one of the better relief options in net this season, allowing four goals or more only three times this season.
