A driver tried to hit a woman with his car, then beat and abducted her from an Oakland street, California police reported. The stolen vehicle used in the kidnapping was later found, but the woman and her abductor both remain missing, Oakland police said in a Thursday, March 6, news release.
A driver who spent 22 hours trapped in a crashed pickup truck with his dog was rescued after a passerby spotted the crash, California authorities reported. The driver crashed off Highway 89 north of Calpine in Sierra County at about 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, the California Highway Patrol said in a news release.
