France’s president called for a new partnership between European and Asian nations to protect the rules-based international order and to avoid being dragged into the growing rivalry between the U.S. and China.

The visit also saw the signing of a major deal for the purchase of 20 Airbus planes by the budget Vietnamese airline VietJet.
