Arizona Resident Dies From Pneumonic Plague
MONDAY, July 14, 2025 (HealthDay News) — An Arizona resident has died from pneumonic plague, a rare but serious illness, health officials confirmed. The death happened in Coconino County in Northern Arizona, which includes Flagstaff. Officials gave no information about the person who died, The Associated Press reported.
Dr. Frank Lovecchio shares the warning signs and symptoms of the pneumonic plague after Coconino County sees its first death from the lung infection since 2007.
The symptoms and causes of the most common types of plagues after a north Arizona resident died within hours of attending a medical facility.
