The waitlist for Cadillac’s ultra-luxury Celestiq EV is officially open. A launch event late Monday signaled the start of the highly customized fastback’s journey to high-value customers.

Cadillac Celestiq owners appear to have only one way to get in if their 12V battery dies. Thankfully, Cadillac included jump leads in the trunk to allow ingress and pop the frunk.

A Cadillac spokesperson has since confirmed to Car and Driver that the Celestiq's starting MSRP will be approximately $340K. However, they declined to share the destination fee at this time.

Cadillac dealers probably already have customers in mind for the Celestiq, Jominy said. These will be people with multiple luxury cars in their garages, including at least one Escalade, he said.

Availability for the production version of the Cadillac Celestiq is slated for announcement at “a later date.” Further details are also slated for announcement later in the 2022 calendar year.

The American-made luxury sedan will start over $300,000 with waitlist-only availability. Customers will work with Cadillac designers to create a unique Celestiq outfitted in custom materials.
