Police in Birmingham, Michigan, are warning residents of scammers after two people claimed they received a call about a family member being held at gunpoint and the caller demanding money.

An 18-year-old man was arrested early Monday morning after authorities say he made a false 911 call and brandished his gun in Monroe, Michigan.
