The popular melodic rapper is expected to take the stand Thursday and tell the jury about his brief relationship 14 years ago with Combs’ ex-girlfriend, the R&B singer Cassie.

Even before the high-profile trial began, there were signs that other stars might be name-dropped in court; potential jurors were asked during jury selection if they recognized anyone on a list that included celebrities such as Kid Cudi,
