On Thursday, however, the Nationals determined that the 33-year-old closer won’t be a part of their next chapter. They sent him to the Detroit Tigers for right-handed pitching prospects Josh Randall and R.J. Sales.

According to published reports Detroit sent pitching prospects Josh Randall and RJ Sales Thursday. Finnegan has 20 saves in 26 chances, is 1-4 with a 4.38 ERA, as the latest boost to the bullpen.
