Manchester United are refusing Barcelona’s attempt to sign Marcus Rashford on loan in the summer transfer window, according to reports in Spain. Rashford has just spent the second half of the campaign on loan at Aston Villa after he was frozen out of United’s first team by Ruben Amorim.

That is why it is dubbed an “exercise in patience” for Barcelona. As Fabrizio Romano has reported, Rashford is among a four-strong shortlist created by the club. Díaz is a public target, while there has also been talk about AC Milan’s Rafael Leão and Atlético Madrid’s Julián Alvarez.
