Alissa Pili, the Lynx’s No. 8 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, was waived mid-road trip and kicked out of her hotel postgame.

Alissa Pili is no longer a member of the Minnesota Lynx. The 24-year-old was waived by the reigning WNBA runners-up right in the middle of a road trip.

Pili, the No. 8 overall pick in the 2024 draft out of Utah, signed a three-year deal with the Lynx in April that year. In 15 games this season, she averaged 1.9 points and 1.2 rebounds in 5.9 minutes.

The Minnesota Lynx made incredible WNBA history following their 91-82 win over the Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday night. Going into the matchup, the Lynx had 499 wins throughout the history of their franchise. They had the chance to secure their 500th victory on July 9 but lost 79-71 to the Phoenix Mercury.

But the Lynx went scoreless the rest of the way, going 0 for 3 from the field from that point, while also committing three turnovers. It was very un-Lynx like for a team that’s been so sound down the stretch of games over the first half of the season.
