Monday is a NEXT Weather Alert Day for tropical downpours and an elevated flash flood risk. The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch from Monday afternoon through the evening for the following Pennsylvania counties: Berks, Delaware, Chester, Montgomery, Lehigh, Bucks, Northampton and Philadelphia.

Another hot and muggy summer day is ahead for Philadelphia and its suburbs, with late-day soaking scattered showers that could cause flash flooding in some areas.

The deluge caused a ground stop for about an hour at PHL. The issues from the storm snowballed to cause problems for passengers on Tuesday.

The drenching rain pattern from last week has loosened its grip on the Philadelphia area for the weekend. There is still a chance of isolated afternoon showers and storms, but most of the area will remain dry under a combination of sun and clouds.
