Long-shot efforts to find survivors from Myanmar’s devastating March 28 earthquake are winding down, as rescue efforts get supplanted by increasing relief and recovery activity.

A 5.1-magnitude aftershock hit near Mandalay on Sunday, following the 7.7 quake on Friday that has killed more than 1,600 people.

Myanmar, also known as Burma, is in the throes of a prolonged and bloody civil war, which is already responsible for a massive humanitarian crisis.
