Louisiana native and "American Idol" runner-up John Foster will perform at the Cajun Country Jam in Denham Springs during Memorial Day weekend.

In April, “American Idol” hopeful John Foster advanced from the Top 20 to the Top 14 with a performance of his tearjerking original song “Tell That Angel I Love Her.” The 18-year-old Louisiana singer penned the tune about his late friend, Maggie Dunn, who died during his junior year of high school.

Louisiana’s own John Foster is the runner-up of American Idol, Season 23. The three remaining contestants gave their final performances in a star-studded night with music legends and top stars. The finalists opened the show singing together Queen’s classic,
