Much has been made recently about the collusion grievance filed by the NFLPA against the NFL and the fallout from an arbitrator’s findings on the case being made public.

The NFLPA fired non-injury grievance arbitrator Sidney Moreland on Wednesday, according to three sources with direct knowledge of the matter. Per the NFL's collective bargaining agreement, arbitrators are jointly appointed by the league and NFLPA.

In a 4:58 a.m. ET response to the email from P.R. executive Liz Allen to all NFLPA staff, with a “cc” to general counsel Tom DePaso and NFLPA president Jalen Reeves-Maybin, Jones raised the question that we later addressed here.

None of the actions that have come to light through recent reporting indicate a healthy union with the players' interests at the core of its cause.
