WASHINGTON — A slow-moving weather system that dumped up to 5 inches of rain in some parts of the DMV is causing widespread flooding from Northern Virginia through the District of Columbia and into western Maryland and West Virginia, prompting extended flood warnings and disrupting communities along the Potomac River and its tributaries.
A storm stretching 1,000 miles along the Eastern Seaboard will bring the western Carolinas some of their heaviest rain since the remnants of Hurricane Helene.
Parts of North Carolina still recovering from Helene could see 5 inches of rain. Flash flooding concerns strecthed into Pennsylvania.
